Welcome Back, Friend of the Armory!
Supporting the Legacy of American Innovation
We’re so glad to have you here. As a valued member of the Friends of the Springfield Armory, you’re part of a dedicated community committed to protecting one of America’s most significant historic landmarks and keeping its stories alive.
For nearly two centuries, Springfield Armory stood at the forefront of American innovation. Established by President George Washington in 1794, it became the nation’s first armory and a cornerstone of U.S. military strength. From the Revolution through two World Wars, the Armory’s engineers, craftspeople, and innovators shaped the future of manufacturing—introducing precision machining, interchangeable parts, and industrial methods that powered America’s growth.
Today, the Springfield Armory National Historic Site preserves this extraordinary legacy through its world-class collection of military firearms, original buildings, and educational exhibits. But preserving history takes more than care—it takes community.
That’s where you come in. Your membership directly supports the programs, exhibits, and restoration efforts that keep the Armory’s story alive for generations to come. Through your involvement, you help ensure that this site continues to inspire curiosity, honor service, and celebrate American ingenuity.
Here’s how you can make an impact today:
Volunteer: Share your time and passion by helping with museum programs, events, and community initiatives.
Donate: Every contribution—large or small—helps preserve historic collections, expand educational opportunities, and fund restoration projects.
Together, we’re preserving more than artifacts—we’re preserving a legacy of innovation, craftsmanship, and national pride.
Springfield Armory tells the story of a nation—of invention, service, and sacrifice. With your help, we can continue sharing that story for generations to come.
Make history part of your legacy.
